ततस्तु कम्पनं दृष्ट्वा शोणिताक्षो हतं रणे ।
रथेनाभ्यपतत् क्षिप्रं तत्राङ्गदमभीतवत् ॥६-७६-४॥
tatastu kampanaṃ dṛṣṭvā śoṇitākṣo hataṃ raṇe |
rathenābhyapatat kṣipraṃ tatrāṅgadamabhītavat ॥6-76-4॥
Translation
Seeing Kampana slain in the battle, Shonitaksha, mounted on a chariot, quickly rushed toward Angada without any fear.
हिंदी अनुवाद
कम्पन को युद्ध में मारा गया देख, शोणिताक्ष रथ पर सवार होकर निर्भयता के साथ अंगद की ओर तेजी से झपटा।
English Commentary
The advancement of another Rakshasa warrior after a comrade's death shows the military persistence of Lanka. Shonitaksha approaching 'Abhitavat' (like one without fear) reveals his pride in his prowess and his chariot. His refusal to retreat despite witnessing Angada's strength highlights the stubborn nature and battle-lust of the Rakshasas.

एक साथी की मृत्यु के बाद दूसरे राक्षस योद्धा का आगे बढ़ना लंका की सैन्य दृढ़ता को दर्शाता है। शोणिताक्ष का 'अभीतवत्' (निर्भय की भाँति) आना यह प्रकट करता है कि उसे अपनी शक्ति और रथ पर बहुत गर्व था। वह अंगद जी के पराक्रम को देखकर भी पीछे नहीं हटा, जो राक्षसों के हठी स्वभाव और युद्ध के प्रति उनके अनुराग को दर्शाता है।
