व्यादिदेश हरिश्रेष्ठान् जाम्बवत्प्रमुखांस्ततः ।
ते तु वानरशार्दूलाः श्रुत्वा रामस्य शासनम् ॥६-७६-५८॥
vyādideśa hariśreṣṭhān jāmbavatpramukhāṃstataḥ |
te tu vānaraśārdūlāḥ śrutvā rāmasya śāsanam ॥6-76-58॥
Translation
Gave orders to the principal monkey-chiefs headed by Jambavan. Hearing Shri Rama's command, those tiger-like monkeys—

English Commentary
Shri Rama chooses to send experienced warriors like Jambavan instead of going Himself initially. This proves His skilled leadership and His trust in His generals' capabilities. The 'Shasanam' (command) was a divine mandate for the Vanaras, infusing them with fresh energy. Jambavan's advancement signifies the union of experience and strength in the battle.
