वानरेन्द्रा महात्मानो वेलामिव महोदधिः ।
तांस्तु दृष्ट्वा हरिगणान् शरवृष्टिबिरर्दितान् ॥६-७६-६३॥

Translation
Just as the great ocean cannot transcend its shore (Vela), those high-souled monkey-chiefs could not advance. Seeing those monkey hosts tormented by the rain of arrows—

English Commentary
The ocean and shore metaphor frames Kumbha's missile power as an insurmountable boundary. The Vanaras are 'Mahatmanah,' fighting for Dharma, yet Kumbha's arrows rendered them helpless. This verse depicts the stalemate where momentum was halted, making Sugriva's personal intervention mandatory from this point onward.

समुद्र और तट की उपमा कुम्भ के अस्त्रों की शक्ति को मर्यादा और शक्ति का संगम बताती है। वानर 'महात्मा' हैं, जो धर्म के लिए लड़ रहे हैं, किन्तु कुम्भ के बाणों ने उन्हें विवश कर दिया था। यह श्लोक युद्ध के उस ठहराव को चित्रित करता है जहाँ गति अवरुद्ध हो गई थी। यहाँ से सुग्रीव जी का पुनः सक्रिय होना अनिवार्य हो गया।
