कुम्भस्य धनुराक्षिप्य बभञ्जेन्द्रधनुष्प्रभम् ।
अवप्लुत्य ततः शीघ्रं कृत्वा कर्म सुदुष्करम् ॥६-७६-७०॥
kumbhasya dhanurākṣipya babhañjendradhanuṣprabham |
avaplutya tataḥ śīghraṃ kṛtvā karma suduṣkaram ॥6-76-70॥
Translation
Leaping forward, Sugriva snatched Kumbha's bow, which shone like a rainbow, and broke it. Thus, he performed an exceedingly difficult feat.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सुग्रीव ने उछलकर कुम्भ का वह इन्द्रधनुष के समान चमकता हुआ धनुष छीन लिया और उसे तोड़ दिया। इस प्रकार उन्होंने अत्यंत कठिन कार्य कर दिखाया।
English Commentary
Sugriva took a decisive step here to end the missile warfare. The breaking of the bow was the greatest tactical blow to Kumbha. The bow that once flashed like a rainbow was now reduced to mere splinters. Sugriva's agility and force left Kumbha defenseless, providing the first ray of victory for the Vanara army.

सुग्रीव ने यहाँ अस्त्र-युद्ध को समाप्त करने के लिए निर्णायक कदम उठाया। धनुष का टूटना कुम्भ के लिए सबसे बड़ा सामरिक आघात था। 'इन्द्रधनुष' की चमक वाला धनुष अब केवल लकड़ी का एक टुकड़ा रह गया था। सुग्रीव की फुर्ती और बल ने कुम्भ को रक्षाहीन कर दिया। यह दृश्य वानर सेना के लिए विजय की पहली किरण थी।
