Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
धनुषीन्द्रजितस्तुल्यः प्रतापे रावणस्य च ।
त्वमद्य रक्षसां लोके श्रेष्ठो ऽसि बलवीर्यतः ॥६-७६-७६॥
dhanuṣīndrajitastulyaḥ pratāpe rāvaṇasya ca |
tvamadya rakṣasāṃ loke śreṣṭho 'si balavīryataḥ ॥6-76-76॥
Translation
In archery, you are equal to Indrajit, and in glory, you are like Ravana. Today, in the world of Rakshasas, you are the foremost in terms of strength and heroism.
हिंदी अनुवाद
धनुर्विद्या में तुम इन्द्रजित के समान और प्रताप में रावण के तुल्य हो। आज राक्षसों के लोक में तुम बल और वीर्य में सबसे श्रेष्ठ हो।
English Commentary
Sugriva proclaims Kumbha to be the finest warrior of Lanka. Comparing him to Indrajit and Ravana places him at the pinnacle of glory. This could be part of the 'Sama' strategy, where honoring the enemy prepares them mentally for a duel. Sugriva realizes that defeating Kumbha means toppling the last pillar of Ravana's might.

सुग्रीव कुम्भ को लंका का सर्वश्रेष्ठ योद्धा घोषित कर रहे हैं। इन्द्रजित और रावण के साथ उसकी तुलना उसे गौरव की पराकाष्ठा पर बिठाती है। यह 'साम' नीति का हिस्सा भी हो सकता है, जहाँ शत्रु को मान देकर उसे युद्ध के लिए मानसिक रूप से तैयार किया जाता है। सुग्रीव जानते हैं कि कुम्भ को हराना रावण की शक्ति के अंतिम स्तंभ को गिराना होगा।
