शोणिताक्षस्ततः क्षिप्रमसिचर्म समाददे ।
उत्पपात दिवं क्रुद्धो वेगवानविचारयन् ॥६-७६-८॥
śoṇitākṣastataḥ kṣipramasicarma samādade |
utpapāta divaṃ kruddho vegavānavicārayan ॥6-76-8॥
Translation
Then Shonitaksha quickly took up a sword and a shield and, filled with rage, leaped into the sky with great speed without a second thought.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब शोणिताक्ष ने तुरंत तलवार और ढाल उठा ली और क्रोध में भरकर बिना कुछ सोचे-समझे बड़े वेग से आकाश में उछल पड़ा।
English Commentary
Deprived of his chariot, Shonitaksha opts for sword-fighting. The word 'Avicarayan' (without thinking) reflects his desperation and agitation. Leaping into the sky was part of the Rakshasas' combination of physical and illusory capabilities. He now seeks to engage Angada in a direct, close-quarters duel.

रथ नष्ट होने के बाद शोणिताक्ष ने खड्ग-युद्ध (तलवारबाजी) को चुना। 'अविचारयन्' (बिना सोचे) शब्द उसकी हताशा और उत्तेजना को प्रकट करता है। आकाश में उछलना राक्षसों की मायावी और शारीरिक श्रेष्ठता का भाग था। वह अब अंगद जी से आमने-सामने के मल्ल-युद्ध या खड्ग-युद्ध में भिड़ना चाहता था।
