ततः कुम्भं समुत्क्षिप्य सुग्रीवो लवणाम्भसि ।
पातयामास वेगेन दर्शयन्नुदधेस्तलम् ॥६-७६-८४॥
tataḥ kumbhaṃ samutkṣipya sugrīvo lavaṇāmbhasi |
pātayāmāsa vegena darśayannudadhestalam ॥6-76-84॥
Translation
Then Sugriva, lifting Kumbha up, hurled him with speed into the salt ocean, making the very bottom of the sea visible.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब सुग्रीव ने कुम्भ को ऊपर उठाकर बड़े वेग से खारे समुद्र (लवण-अम्भसि) में पटक दिया, जिससे समुद्र का तल दिखाई देने लगा।
English Commentary
Sugriva's strike signaled his impending victory. Lifting and hurling a giant like Kumbha into the ocean proves his unimaginable physical strength. Making the 'bottom of the sea visible' reflects the massive velocity and displacement of the impact. Sugriva successfully demonstrated the superiority of his Vanara nature here.
हिंदी टीका
सुग्रीव का यह प्रहार उनकी विजय का संकेत था। कुम्भ जैसे विशाल राक्षस को उठाकर समुद्र में फेंकना उनके अकल्पनीय बाहुबल को सिद्ध करता है। 'समुद्र का तल दिखना' (दर्शयन् उदधेः तलम्) प्रहार के प्रचंड वेग और विस्थापन को दर्शाता है। सुग्रीव ने यहाँ अपनी वानर प्रकृति की श्रेष्ठता सिद्ध कर दी।
