Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ततः कुम्भः समुत्पत्य सुग्रीवमभिपत्य च ।
आजघानोरसि क्रुद्धो वज्रवेगेन मुष्टिना ॥६-७६-८६॥
tataḥ kumbhaḥ samutpatya sugrīvamabhipatya ca |
ājaghānorasi krūddho vajravegena muṣṭinā ॥6-76-86॥
Translation
Then Kumbha, emerging and leaping from the sea, pounced upon Sugriva and, in a fit of rage, struck him on the chest with a fist having the speed of a thunderbolt.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब कुम्भ समुद्र से निकलकर उछला और सुग्रीव पर झपटकर क्रोध में भरकर वज्र के समान वेग वाले मुक्के से उनकी छाती पर प्रहार किया।
English Commentary
Kumbha's endurance and vengeful spirit are clear here. Even after being thrown into the sea, he returned instantly. Striking with a 'thunderbolt-speed fist' was his final and most potent assault. He intended to finish Sugriva by hitting his vital chest area. The momentum of the battle seemed to shift back toward Kumbha for a moment.

कुम्भ की सहनशक्ति और प्रतिशोध की भावना यहाँ स्पष्ट है। समुद्र में गिरने के बाद भी वह तुरंत लौट आया। 'वज्रवेगेन मुष्टिना' (वज्र के वेग वाले मुक्के से) प्रहार करना उसका अंतिम और सबसे शक्तिशाली वार था। वह सुग्रीव को उनके मर्म स्थल पर चोट पहुँचाकर समाप्त करना चाहता था। युद्ध का यह पलड़ा फिर से कुम्भ की ओर झुकता हुआ दिखा।
