तस्य चर्म च पुस्फोट बहु सुस्राव शोणितम् ।
स च मुष्टिर्महावेगः प्रतिजघ्ने ऽस्थिमण्डले ॥६-७६-८७॥
tasya carma ca pusphoṭa bahu susrāva śoṇitam |
sa ca muṣṭirma hāvegaḥ pratijaghne 'sthimandale ॥6-76-87॥
Translation
By that blow, Sugriva's skin burst open and much blood flowed. That high-velocity fist struck against the framework of his bones (the ribcage).
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस प्रहार से सुग्रीव की त्वचा फट गई और बहुत रक्त बहने लगा। वह महावेग वाला मुक्का सुग्रीव की अस्थियों के ढांचे (छाती की हड्डी) से जा टकराया।
English Commentary
This blow was excruciating for Sugriva. The terms 'Pusphota' (burst open) and 'Asthi-mandale' (the bone structure) describe the depth and severity of the injury. The sight of Sugriva's blood was terrifying for the Vanara host. Here, Sugriva's physical endurance was undergoing its ultimate trial.

यह प्रहार सुग्रीव के लिए अत्यंत पीड़ादायक था। 'पुस्फोट' (फट जाना) और 'अस्थि-मण्डले' (हड्डियों के ढांचे) शब्द चोट की गहराई और गम्भीरता को बताते हैं। सुग्रीव का रक्त बहना वानर सेना के लिए एक डरावना दृश्य था। यहाँ सुग्रीव की शारीरिक सहनशीलता की अंतिम परीक्षा हो रही थी।
