तदा वेगेन तत्रासीत्तेजः प्रज्वलितं मुहुः ।
वज्रनिष्पेषसञ्जाता ज्वाला मेरौ यथा गिरौ ॥६-७६-८८॥
tadā vegena tatrāsīttejaḥ prajvalitaṃ muhuḥ |
vajraniṣpeṣasañjātā jvālā merau yathā girau ॥6-76-88॥
Translation
Due to that velocity, a brilliant luster flared up repeatedly, just as flames are generated on Mount Meru when struck by a thunderbolt.

उस वेग के कारण वहाँ बार-बार तेज प्रज्वलित होने लगा, जैसे मेरु पर्वत पर वज्र के टकराने से ज्वाला उत्पन्न होती है।
English Commentary
The generation of 'luster' and 'flames' from the fist-blow resulted from the friction between two supreme powers. The analogy of Mount Meru and the Vajra grants this duel a supernatural and cosmic dimension. It was not just a clash of two bodies, but a collision of two vast energies, proving the overwhelming ferocity of the strike.
