Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
स तत्राभिहतस्तेन सुग्रीवो वानरर्षभः ।
मुष्टिं संवर्तयामास वज्रकल्पं महाबलः ॥६-७६-८९॥
sa tatrābhihatastena sugrīvo vānararṣabhaḥ |
muṣṭiṃ saṃvartayāmāsa vajrakalpaṃ mahābalaḥ ॥6-76-89॥
Translation
Being struck there by that blow, the mighty Sugriva, the foremost of monkeys, clenched his thunderbolt-like fist.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वहाँ उस प्रहार से आहत होकर महाबली वानर श्रेष्ठ सुग्रीव ने अपनी वज्र के समान मुट्ठी बांधी।
English Commentary
Sugriva responded to the injury with absolute firmness. Clenching his 'Vajra-like fist' signaled the preparation for his final, decisive strike. He concentrated all his remaining energy and the memory of Shri Rama into his fist. This was a king's ultimate vow to protect his honor and Dharma.
हिंदी टीका
सुग्रीव ने चोट का उत्तर अत्यंत दृढ़ता से दिया। 'वज्रकल्पम् मुष्टिम्' (वज्र जैसी मुट्ठी) बाँधना उनके अंतिम और निर्णायक प्रहार की तैयारी थी। उन्होंने अपनी सारी शेष शक्ति और श्री राम का स्मरण अपनी मुट्ठी में संकलित कर लिया। यह एक राजा का अपने गौरव और धर्म की रक्षा के लिए किया गया अंतिम संकल्प था।
