Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कुम्भस्य पततो रूपं भग्नस्योरसि मुष्टिना ।
बभौ रुद्राभिपन्नस्य यथा रूपं गवां पतेः ॥६-७६-९३॥
kumbhasya patato rūpaṃ bhagnasyōrasi muṣṭinā |
babhau rudrābhipannasya yathā rūpaṃ gavāṃ pateḥ ॥6-76-93॥
Translation
The appearance of the falling Kumbha, whose chest was shattered by the fist, resembled the form of the Lord of Bulls (Vrisha) when struck down by Lord Rudra.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मुक्के से छाती टूट जाने पर गिरते हुए कुम्भ का रूप वैसा ही लग रहा था, जैसे भगवान रुद्र द्वारा मारे गए वृषभासुर (कामधेनु के पति/बैल) का रूप हो।
English Commentary
This alludes to the mythic destruction of demons by Lord Rudra (Shiva). Sugriva's strike was as destructive as Rudra's. Kumbha's massive body was now reduced to a lifeless mass. This verse consecrates the slaying of Kumbha as an act of divine justice.
हिंदी टीका
यहाँ भगवान शिव (रुद्र) द्वारा त्रिपुरासुर या वृषभासुर के वध की कथा का संकेत है। सुग्रीव का प्रहार रुद्र के समान संहारक था। कुम्भ का विशाल शरीर अब केवल एक निर्जीव मांस का ढेर रह गया था। यह श्लोक कुम्भ के वध को एक दैवीय न्याय के रूप में प्रतिष्ठित करता है।
