परिघाग्रेण पुस्फोट वातग्रन्थिर्महात्मनः ।
प्रजज्वाल सघोषश्च विधूम इव पावकः ॥६-७७-७॥
parighāgreṇa pusphoṭa vātagranthirmahātmanaḥ |
prajajjvāla saghoṣaśca vidhūma iva pāvakaḥ ॥6-77-7॥
Translation
The tip of the iron club of that mighty one burst the knot of the wind (created a sonic boom/vortex), and it blazed forth with a sound like smokeless fire.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस महात्मा के परिघ के अग्रभाग (की रगड़) से वायु की गांठ (Air pocket/Vortex) फूट गई और वह (परिघ) बिना धुएं वाली आग की तरह शब्द करता हुआ प्रज्वलित हो उठा।
English Commentary
The speed of the club was so intense that friction with the air caused it to catch fire and create a sonic boom. This hyperbolic description illustrates Nikumbha's arm strength and velocity.

परिघ की गति इतनी तीव्र थी कि हवा में घर्षण से आग लग गई और धमाका (Sonic boom) हुआ। यह अतिशयोक्तिपूर्ण वर्णन निकुम्भ की बाहुबल और वेग को दर्शाता है।
