अहं राक्षसराजेन रावणेन महात्मना ।
आज्ञप्तः समरे हन्तुं तावुभौ रामलक्ष्मणौ ॥६-७८-१०॥
ahaṃ rākṣasarājena rāvaṇena mahātmanā |
ājñaptaḥ samare hantuṃ tāvubhau rāmalakṣmaṇau ॥6-78-10॥
Translation
I have been commanded by the high-souled King of Rakshasas, Ravana, to kill both Shri Rama and Lakshmana in battle.

राक्षसराज महात्मा रावण ने मुझे युद्ध में उन दोनों—श्री राम और लक्ष्मण को मारने की आज्ञा दी है।
English Commentary
Makaraksha legitimizes his mission by invoking Ravana's name. By referring to Ravana as Mahatma (great soul) and Rakshasaraja (King of Rakshasas), he instills a sense of duty and high purpose in his soldiers. He clarifies that the primary objective is specific and high-value: the assassination of the two princes, Shri Rama and Lakshmana.
