तस्य ते रथयुक्ताश्च हया विक्रमवर्जिताः ।
चरणैराकुलैर्गत्वा दीनाः सास्रमुखा ययुः ॥६-७८-१८॥
tasya te rathayuktāśca hayā vikramavarjitāḥ |
caraṇairākulairgatvā dīnāḥ sāsramukhā yayuḥ ॥6-78-18॥
Translation
The horses yoked to his chariot lost their vigor. Moving with unsteady steps, they went along miserably with tears in their eyes.

उसके रथ में जुते हुए घोड़े पराक्रम से रहित हो गए। वे लड़खड़ाते कदमों से, दीन होकर और आँखों में आंसू भरकर चलने लगे।
English Commentary
Animals are often depicted as sensing impending doom before humans do. The horses, usually symbols of power and speed, are described here as 'devoid of valor' and weeping. Their unsteady gait and tearful eyes add a layer of pathos to the scene, reinforcing the inevitability of the tragedy that is about to befall their master.

पशुओं में अनिष्ट को भांपने की शक्ति मानी जाती है। मकराक्ष के घोड़ों का व्यवहार—दीनता, लड़खड़ाना और आंसू बहाना—यह दर्शाता है कि वे मृत्यु की दिशा में बढ़ रहे हैं। 'विक्रमवर्जिताः' का अर्थ है कि उनका स्वाभाविक तेज नष्ट हो गया था। यह दृश्य करुणा और भय का मिश्रण उत्पन्न करता है।
