घनगजमहिषाङ्गतुल्यवर्णाः समरमुखेष्वसकृद्गदासिभिन्नाः ।
अहमहमिति युद्धकौशलास्ते रजनिचराः परितः समुन्नदन्तः ॥६-७८-२१॥
ghanagajamahiṣāṅgatulyavarṇāḥ samaramukheṣvasakṛdgadāsibhinnāḥ |
ahamahamiti yuddhakauśalāste rajanicarāḥ paritaḥ samunnadantaḥ ॥6-78-21॥
Translation
Colored like clouds, elephants, and buffaloes, having been wounded many times by maces and swords in the forefront of battles, those night-roamers spread out all around, roaring and boasting of their war skills, saying 'I will do it, I will do it.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
मेघ, हाथी और भैंसे के समान काले रंग वाले, युद्धों के मुहाने पर अनेक बार गदा और तलवार से घायल हुए (अनुभवी), वे निशाचर 'मैं (मारूँगा), मैं (मारूँगा)'—इस प्रकार अपने युद्ध-कौशल की डींगें मारते हुए और गर्जना करते हुए चारों ओर फैल गए।
English Commentary
The final verse of this section paints a vivid picture of the veteran army. Their dark complexion is compared to storm clouds and buffaloes. The scars from previous battles serve as medals of their experience. However, their chant of 'Aham, Aham' (I, I) signifies their egoism. They are boastful of their skills, unaware that they are marching against the Supreme Lord, where their past experience will be of no avail.

सर्ग के अंतिम श्लोक में राक्षसों का विशद चित्रण है। उनका रंग काला (मेघ/भैंसा) है, जो तामसिक वृत्ति का प्रतीक है। उनके शरीर पर पुराने घाव यह बताते हैं कि वे अनुभवी योद्धा हैं, नौसिखिए नहीं। 'अहमहमिति' (मैं-मैं) उनका अहंकार और व्यर्थ का कोलाहल दर्शाता है। वे उत्साह में भरकर रणभूमि में फैल गए, परन्तु यह उत्साह क्षणभंगुर सिद्ध होने वाला था।
