निर्गतं मकाराक्षं ते दृष्ट्वा वानरयूथपाः ।
आप्लुत्य सहसा सर्वे योद्धुकामा व्यवस्थिताः ॥६-७९-१॥
nirgataṃ makarākṣaṃ te dṛṣṭvā vānarayūthapāḥ |
āplutya sahasā sarve yoddhukāmā vyavasthitāḥ ॥6-79-1॥
Translation
Seeing the Rakshasa Makaraksha come out, all those Vanara troop-leaders suddenly leaped up with a desire to fight and positioned themselves firmly.

राक्षस मकराक्ष को लंका से बाहर निकलता देख वे सभी वानर यूथपति युद्ध की इच्छा से अचानक उछल पड़े और रणभूमि में डटकर खड़े हो गए।
English Commentary
This verse marks the entry of Makaraksha, the son of Khara, into the battlefield. His name suggests he had eyes resembling those of a shark or crocodile. The alertness of the Vanara commanders and their 'Vyavasthitah' (taking positions) signify their military discipline and readiness to face a new threat. It illustrates the shift from defensive to offensive readiness within the Vanara ranks.

इस श्लोक में खर के पुत्र मकराक्ष के रणक्षेत्र में प्रवेश का वर्णन है। मकराक्ष का नाम उसके 'मकर' (मगरमच्छ) के समान आँखों वाले स्वरूप को दर्शाता है। वानर सेनापतियों की तत्परता और उनका 'व्यवस्थिताः' (व्यवस्थित होना) उनके सैन्य अनुशासन और अदम्य साहस को प्रकट करता है। यहाँ युद्ध के एक नए और भीषण चरण की सूचना प्राप्त होती है, जहाँ वानर रक्षा के बजाय आक्रमण के लिए उद्यत हैं।
