आहूयमानः कपिभिर्बहुभिर्बलशालिभिः ।
युद्धाय स महातेजा रामादन्यं न चेच्छति ॥६-७९-१४॥
āhūyamānaḥ kapibhir bahubhir balaśālibhiḥ |
yuddhāya sa mahātejā rāmādanyaṃ na cecchati ॥6-79-14॥
Translation
Even though he was being challenged by many powerful monkeys, that highly radiant Rakshasa did not desire anyone other than Shri Rama for combat.

अनेक बलवान वानरों द्वारा युद्ध के लिए ललकारे जाने पर भी, वह महातेजस्वी राक्षस श्री राम के सिवा किसी और से लड़ना नहीं चाहता था।
English Commentary
Makaraksha's focus is singular: Shri Rama. He refuses to waste his energy on lesser warriors, showing a certain level of focused martial integrity and confidence. Although he is 'Mahatejas' (highly radiant), his radiance is destructive. His stubbornness leads him directly into the path of inevitable doom—Shri Rama Himself.

मकराक्ष का ध्यान पूरी तरह से केवल श्री राम पर केंद्रित है। वह छोटे योद्धाओं से लड़कर अपनी शक्ति व्यर्थ नहीं करना चाहता। यह उसके आत्मविश्वास और उसके लक्ष्य के प्रति दृढ़ता को दर्शाता है। यद्यपि वह 'महातेजस्वी' है, किन्तु उसका तेज विध्वंसकारी है। उसकी यह जिद उसे सीधे साक्षात् काल (श्री राम) के सम्मुख ले जा रही है।
