दह्यन्ते भृशमङ्गानि दुरात्मन् मम राघव ।
यन्मया ऽसि न दृष्टस्त्वं तस्मिन् काले महावने ॥६-७९-१९॥
dahyante bhṛśamaṅgāni durātman mama rāghava |
yanmayā 'si na dṛṣṭastvaṃ tasmin kāle mahāvane ॥6-79-19॥
Translation
O evil-souled scion of Raghu! My limbs are burning with agony because I did not see you in that great forest at that time.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे दुरात्मा राघव! उस समय उस विशाल वन में मैंने तुम्हें नहीं देखा था, इसी ग्लानि में आज मेरे अंग जल रहे हैं।
English Commentary
Addressing Shri Rama as 'Duratman' (evil-souled) reflects Makaraksha's own corrupted perception. The burning of his limbs describes the peak of his internal torment and fury. His regret over not being present during his father's final battle manifests as physical and mental agony.

मकराक्ष श्री राम को 'दुरात्मा' कहकर संबोधित करता है, जो स्वयं उसके अपने दूषित हृदय का प्रतिबिम्ब है। 'दह्यन्ते अङ्गानि' (अंगों का जलना) मानसिक संताप और क्रोध की चरम अवस्था को व्यक्त करता है। उसे पछतावा है कि वह अपने पिता के साथ उस समय क्यों नहीं था। यह उसकी अधूरी प्रतिज्ञा की तड़प है।
