बहुना ऽत्र किमुक्तेन शृणु राम वचो मम ।
पश्यन्तु सकला लोकास्त्वां मां चैव रणाजिरे ॥६-७९-२२॥
bahunā 'tra kimuktena śṛṇu rāma vaco mama |
paśyantu sakalā lokāstvāṃ māṃ caiva raṇājire ॥6-79-22॥
Translation
O Shri Rama! What is the use of speaking much here? Listen to my words—let all the worlds witness you and me on this battlefield.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे श्री राम! यहाँ अधिक बोलने से क्या लाभ, मेरी बात सुनो— सम्पूर्ण लोक आज युद्धभूमि में तुम्हारे और मेरे इस युद्ध को देखें।
English Commentary
Makaraksha wishes to move from rhetoric to action, desiring that his prowess become globally renowned. By invoking 'all the worlds,' he inadvertently acknowledges the cosmic significance of the conflict, unaware that the universe would instead witness the just termination of his existence.

मकराक्ष अब शब्दों का आडम्बर छोड़कर क्रिया पर आना चाहता है। वह चाहता है कि उसका पराक्रम विश्व प्रसिद्ध हो जाए। 'सकला लोकाः' (सम्पूर्ण लोक) शब्द यह संकेत देते हैं कि वह इस युद्ध को एक ऐतिहासिक घटना बनाना चाहता था। वह नहीं जानता था कि यह वास्तव में उसके अपने पापों के अंत की साक्षी बनने वाला था।
