मकराक्षवचः क्षुत्वा रामो दशरथात्मजः ।
अब्रवीत् प्रहसन् वाक्यमुत्तरोत्तरवादिनम् ॥६-७९-२४॥
makarākṣavacaḥ kṣutvā rāmo daśarathātmajaḥ |
abravīt prahasan vākyamuttarottaravādinam ॥6-79-24॥
Translation
Hearing the words of Makaraksha, Shri Rama, the son of Dasharatha, spoke these words with a laugh to that Rakshasa who was arguing further and further.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मकराक्ष के वचनों को सुनकर दशरथ नन्दन श्री राम ने बार-बार बोलने वाले उस राक्षस से हँसते हुए यह बात कही।
English Commentary
Shri Rama's 'laughter' is the definitive response to Makaraksha's empty rhetoric. The Lord understands that true power does not need to boast. The word 'Prahasan' signifies His calm and invincible confidence, viewing Makaraksha not as a dire threat, but as an ignorant soul unaware of his limitations.

श्री राम की 'हंसी' मकराक्ष के खोखले वचनों का उत्तर है। भगवान जानते हैं कि जो गरजते हैं वे बरसते नहीं। 'प्रहसन्' शब्द उनके शांत और अजेय आत्मविश्वास का प्रतीक है। वे मकराक्ष को एक गम्भीर शत्रु के स्थान पर एक अज्ञानी बालक की तरह देख रहे हैं जो अपनी सीमाओं को नहीं जानता।
