जीमूतयोरिवाकाशे शब्दो ज्यातलयोस्तदा ।
धनुर्मुक्तः स्वनोत्कृष्टः श्रूयते च रणाजिरे ॥६-७९-३२॥
jīmūtayorivākāśe śabdo jyātalyostadā |
dhanurmuktaḥ svanotkṛṣṭaḥ śrūyate ca raṇājire ॥6-79-32॥
Translation
Like the sound of two clouds colliding in the sky, the great sound of the bowstrings was heard echoing across the battlefield.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आकाश में दो बादलों के टकराने के समान, धनुष की डोरी की टंकार का वह महान शब्द युद्धभूमि में सुनाई दे रहा था।
English Commentary
Comparing the twang of bowstrings to the collision of clouds ('Jimutayoh') lends a grand, natural scale to the sounds of war. This resonance was an echo of the warriors' resolve and the power of their weapons. The term 'Svanotkrishtah' denotes the supreme and grave nature of the sound, which drowned out all other battlefield noise.

धनुष की टंकार की तुलना बादलों के टकराने (जीमूतयोः) से करना युद्ध के नाद को एक विराट प्राकृतिक स्वरूप प्रदान करता है। यह ध्वनि योद्धाओं के संकल्प और शस्त्रों की शक्ति की गूँज थी। 'स्वनोत्कृष्टः' शब्द उस शब्द की श्रेष्ठता और गम्भीरता को दर्शाता है जो अन्य सभी शोर को दबा रहा था।
