दशरथनृपपुत्रबाणवेगै रजनिचरं निहतं खरात्मजं तम् ।
ददृशुरथ सुरा भृशं प्रहृष्टा गिरिमिव वज्रहतं यथा विकीर्णम् ॥६-७९-४८॥
daśarathanṛpapurtabāṇavegaī rajanīçaraṃ nihataṃ kharātmajaṃ tam |
dadṛśuratha surā bhṛśaṃ prahṛṣṭā girimiva vajrahataṃ yathā vikīrṇam ॥6-79-48॥
Translation
Seeing that son of Khara slain by the force of the arrows of King Dasharatha's son (Shri Rama), the Gods were greatly delighted. He lay scattered like a mountain shattered by a thunderbolt.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राजा दशरथ के पुत्र (श्री राम) के बाणों के वेग से मारे गए खर के उस पुत्र (मकराक्ष) को देखकर देवता अत्यंत हर्षित हुए। वह वैसे ही बिखरा पड़ा था, जैसे वज्र की चोट से कोई पर्वत छिन्न-भिन्न हो जाता है।
English Commentary
The sarga concludes with the end of Khara's son and the joy of the heavens. The analogy of a 'mountain shattered by Vajra' captures the magnitude of Makaraksha's former power and the resounding nature of his fall. The delight of the Gods signals the restoration of cosmic order. By removing another major obstacle, Shri Rama smoothed the path to the final victory over Lanka.

सर्ग का समापन कुम्भकर्ण के पुत्र के अंत और देवलोक के हर्ष के साथ होता है। 'वज्रहहतम् गिरिम्' (वज्र से टूटा पर्वत) की उपमा मकराक्ष की पूर्व की शक्ति और उसके वर्तमान पतन की गूँज को दर्शाती है। देवताओं का प्रसन्न होना धर्म की पुनर्स्थापना का संकेत है। श्री राम ने एक और महान अवरोध को हटाकर लंका विजय का मार्ग और अधिक सुगम बना दिया।
