वारितान् राक्षसान् दृष्ट्वा मकराक्षो निशाचरः ।
क्रोधानलसमाविष्टो वचनं चेदमब्रवीत् ॥६-७९-९॥
vāritān rākṣasān dṛṣṭvā makarākṣo niśācaraḥ |
krodhānalasamāviṣṭo vaçanaṃ cedamabravīt ॥6-79-9॥
Translation
Seeing the Rakshasas being checked, the night-stalker Makaraksha was consumed by the fire of anger and spoke these words.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राक्षसों को रुकते हुए देखकर निशाचर मकराक्ष क्रोध की अग्नि में जल उठा और उसने यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
Makaraksha's rage stems from his stalled momentum and irritation at Shri Rama's superior power. The phrase 'Krodhanala' (fire of anger) suggests a fury that incinerates discernment. He realizes that his perceived victory is slipping away due to Shri Rama's intervention. This sets the stage for a personal dialogue and a direct duel between the two.

मकराक्ष का क्रोध यहाँ उसकी विफलता और श्री राम के तेज के प्रति उसकी चिढ़ को दर्शाता है। 'क्रोधानल' (क्रोध की अग्नि) शब्द उसके विवेक को भस्म कर देने वाले आवेश का सूचक है। वह देख रहा है कि उसकी जीती हुई बाजी श्री राम के एक प्रहार से पलट रही है। यहाँ से मकराक्ष और श्री राम के बीच के व्यक्तिगत संवाद और द्वंद्व की पृष्ठभूमि तैयार होती है।
