अद्य रामम् ससुग्रीवम् परिघेण सलक्ष्मणम् ।
आगमिष्यामि हत्वा एको विक्षोभ्य हरि वाहिनीम् ॥६-८-११॥
adya rāmaṃ sasugrīvaṃ parigheṇa salakṣmaṇam । āgamiṣyāmi hatvaiko vikṣobhya harivāhinīm ॥6-8-11॥
Translation
'Today, having thrown the monkey army into confusion, I shall return after killing Shri Rama along with Sugriva and Lakshmana with my iron bar, single-handedly.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'आज मैं अकेला ही वानर सेना को विक्षुब्ध करके (रौंदकर), सुग्रीव और लक्ष्मण सहित श्री राम को परिघ से मारकर लौटूंगा।'
English Commentary
Vajradamshtra's vow. He promises to decapitate the enemy leadership (Shri Rama, Lakshmana, Sugriva) in one go with his club. The recurring theme of 'fighting alone' reflects the individualistic hero culture of the Rakshasas, lacking cohesive unit tactics.

वज्रदंष्ट्र की प्रतिज्ञा। वह अपने परिघ (Club) पर भरोसा करता है। वह भी 'एकाकी' होने का दावा करता है। राक्षसों की सभा में यह होड़ लगी है कि कौन सबसे बड़ी डींग मार सकता है।
