जाम्बूनदमहाकम्बुर्दीप्तपावकसन्निभः ।
बभूवेन्द्रजितः केतुर्वैडूर्यसमलङ्कृतः ॥६-८०-१४॥
jāmbūnadamahākamburdīptapāvakannibhaḥ |
babhūvendrajitaḥ keturvaiḍūryasamalaṅkṛtaḥ ॥6-80-14॥
Translation
Indrajit's flagstaff had a large ring of jambunada gold, resembled a blazing fire, and was adorned with lapis lazuli gems.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इन्द्रजीत की ध्वजा (झंडा) सोने के विशाल छल्ले (कम्बु) वाली, प्रज्वलित अग्नि के समान चमकीली और वैदूर्य मणियों से अलंकृत थी।
English Commentary
In ancient warfare, the flag (Ketu) held great significance. It symbolized the army's morale and the commander's presence. A flag shining like fire was sufficient to instill fear in enemies from a distance. The use of lapis lazuli gems indicates the prosperity of Ravana's empire. This flag waved as a symbol of Indrajit's pride and his claim to invincibility.

प्राचीन युद्धों में ध्वजा (केतु) का बहुत महत्व था। यह सेना के मनोबल और सेनापति की उपस्थिति का प्रतीक होती थी। अग्नि के समान चमकती हुई ध्वजा दूर से ही शत्रुओं के मन में भय उत्पन्न करने के लिए पर्याप्त थी। वैदूर्य मणियों का प्रयोग रावण के साम्राज्य की समृद्धि को दर्शाता है। यह ध्वजा इन्द्रजीत के अभिमान और उसकी अजेयता के दावे का प्रतीक बनकर लहरा रही थी।
