Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सो ऽभिनिर्याय नगरादिन्द्रजित् समितिञ्जयः ।
हुत्वा ऽग्निं राक्षसैर्मन्त्रैरन्तर्धानगतो ऽब्रवीत् ॥६-८०-१६॥
so 'bhiniryāya nagarādindrajit samitiñjayaḥ |
hutvā 'gniṃ rākṣasairmantrairantardhānagato 'bravīt ॥6-80-16॥
Translation
That Indrajit, victorious in battle, having set out from the city and offered oblations to the fire with demonic mantras, became invisible and spoke.
हिंदी अनुवाद
युद्ध जीतने वाले उस इन्द्रजीत ने नगर से निकलकर, राक्षसी मंत्रों से अग्नि में आहुति देकर और अदृश्य होकर (यह) कहा।
English Commentary
Indrajit has now exited Lanka, but he remains unseen. The mention of 'demonic mantras' again reinforces his Tamasic practice. Speaking while invisible is part of his strategy to surprise and intimidate the enemy. He is so confident of his victory that he announces his vow from this invisible state.

इन्द्रजीत अब लंका से बाहर आ चुका है, लेकिन वह किसी को दिखाई नहीं दे रहा है। 'राक्षसी मंत्र' का उल्लेख पुनः उसकी तामसिक साधना को पुष्ट करता है। अदृश्य होकर बोलना उसके आत्मविश्वास और शत्रु को चौंकाने की रणनीति का हिस्सा है। वह अपनी विजय के प्रति इतना आश्वस्त है कि अदृश्य अवस्था से ही अपनी प्रतिज्ञा की घोषणा करता है।
