आपपाताथ सङ्क्रुद्धो दशग्रीवेण चोदितः ।
तीक्ष्णकार्मुकनाराचैस्तीक्ष्णस्त्विन्द्ररिपू रणे ॥६-८०-१९॥
āpapātātha saṅkruddho daśagrīveṇa coditaḥ |
tīkṣṇakārmukanārācaistīkṣṇastvindraripū raṇe ॥6-80-19॥
Translation
Then, urged by the Ten-headed Ravana, the angry enemy of Indra (Indrajit) fell upon the battlefield with his sharp bow and iron arrows.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनन्तर, दशग्रीव (रावण) द्वारा प्रेरित, क्रोधी स्वभाव वाला और इन्द्र का शत्रु (इन्द्रजीत) तीखे धनुष और नाराच बाणों के साथ युद्धभूमि में टूट पड़ा।
English Commentary
Although Indrajit was powerful himself, the phrase 'urged by Ravana' is significant. It pinpoints Ravana's obstinacy as the root cause of this destruction. The word 'tikshna' (sharp/fierce) is used for both Indrajit's nature and his weapons. He began raining arrows while invisible, creating havoc on the battlefield.

यद्यपि इन्द्रजीत स्वयं शक्तिशाली था, किन्तु यहाँ 'दशग्रीवेण चोदितः' (रावण द्वारा प्रेरित) वाक्यांश महत्वपूर्ण है। यह बताता है कि इस विनाश का मूल कारण रावण की हठ है। 'तीक्ष्ण' शब्द का प्रयोग इन्द्रजीत के स्वभाव और उसके शस्त्रों दोनों के लिए किया गया है। वह अदृश्य होकर बाणों की वर्षा करने लगा, जिससे युद्धभूमि में कोलाहल मच गया।
