Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
स तु वैहायसं प्राप्य सरथो रामलक्ष्मणौ ।
अचक्षुर्विषये तिष्ठन् विव्याध निशितैः सऱैः ॥६-८०-२२॥
sa tu vaihāyasaṃ prāpya saratho rāmalakṣmaṇau |
acakṣurviṣaye tiṣṭhan vivyādha niśitaiḥ saṟaiḥ ॥6-80-22॥
Translation
Positioned in the sky with his chariot and remaining beyond the range of sight, he pierced Shri Rama and Lakshmana with sharp arrows.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आकाश में स्थित होकर और दृष्टि की सीमा से बाहर (अदृश्य) रहते हुए, उस रथारूढ़ (इन्द्रजीत) ने तीखे बाणों से श्री राम और लक्ष्मण को बींध डाला।
English Commentary
This situation was critical for Shri Rama and Lakshmana. The enemy was 'beyond the range of sight.' They felt the strikes but could not see the striker. Indrajit was fully exploiting his illusory arts. Lord Shri Rama, though omnipotent, is here playing the role of a human warrior enduring the pain of deceptive warfare, highlighting the brutal reality of war.

यह स्थिति श्री राम और लक्ष्मण के लिए अत्यंत संकटपूर्ण थी। शत्रु 'अचक्षुर्विषये' (नेत्रों के विषय से बाहर) था। वे प्रहार तो महसूस कर रहे थे, पर प्रहारक को देख नहीं पा रहे थे। इन्द्रजीत अपनी मायावी विद्या का पूरा लाभ उठा रहा था। भगवान श्री राम, जो स्वयं सर्वसमर्थ हैं, यहाँ नर-लीला करते हुए कूटयुद्ध के कष्ट को सह रहे हैं, जो युद्ध की क्रूर वास्तविकता को दर्शाता है।
