Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
रावणिस्तु दिशः सर्वा रथेनातिरथः पतन् ।
विव्याध तौ दाशरथी लध्वस्त्रो निशितैः शरैः ॥६-८०-३३॥
rāvaṇistu diśaḥ sarvā rathenātirathaḥ patan |
vivyādha tau dāśarathī ladhvastro niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ ॥6-80-33॥
Translation
The mighty car-warrior (Atiratha) son of Ravana, moving swiftly in all directions with his chariot, pierced the two sons of Dasharatha with sharp arrows, displaying great lightness of hand.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अतिर्थी रावणपुत्र (इन्द्रजीत) अपने रथ से सभी दिशाओं में तेजी से घूमते हुए, हाथ की सफाई (शीघ्रता) के साथ उन दोनों दशरथ-पुत्रों को तीखे बाणों से बींध रहा था।
English Commentary
Indrajit is an 'Atiratha' (superior to a Maharatha). His speed was so intense that he seemed to be in all directions simultaneously. 'Ladhvastro' (lightness of hand) indicates his dexterity. He didn't stay in one spot, making it impossible to target him. This was an aerial form of Guerrilla Warfare.

इन्द्रजीत 'अतिर्थी' (महारथी से भी ऊपर) है। उसकी गति इतनी तीव्र थी कि वह एक साथ सभी दिशाओं में प्रतीत होता था। 'लध्वस्त्रो' (हस्त-लाघव/हाथ की सफाई) उसकी निपुणता को दर्शाता है। वह एक जगह टिक नहीं रहा था, जिससे उसे निशाना बनाना असंभव हो रहा था। यह गुरिल्ला युद्ध (Guerrilla Warfare) का आकाशीय रूप था।
