तथोक्तो राक्षसेन्द्रेण प्रतिगृह्य पितुर्वचः ।
यज्ञभूमौ स विधिवत् पावकं जुहवेन्द्रजित् ॥६-८०-५॥
tathokto rākṣasendreṇa pratigṛhya piturvacaḥ |
yajñabhūmau sa vidhivat pāvakaṃ juhavendrajit ॥6-80-5॥
Translation
Addressed thus by the Lord of Rakshasas, Indrajit accepted his father's words and, going to the sacrificial ground, duly offered oblations into the fire.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राक्षसराज रावण द्वारा ऐसा कहे जाने पर, इन्द्रजीत ने पिता के वचन को स्वीकार किया और यज्ञभूमि में जाकर विधि-विधान पूर्वक अग्नि में आहुति दी।
English Commentary
Indrajit was a devoted son and a disciplined warrior. Upon receiving Ravana's command, he prepared for war without question. Significantly, he chose to go to the 'sacrificial ground' instead of rushing directly to the battlefield. He understood that the source of his power lay in demonic illusions and tantric accomplishments. This verse highlights Indrajit's adherence to his tradition, starting the Nikumbhila sacrifice to garner supernatural support.

इन्द्रजीत एक पितृभक्त पुत्र और अनुशासित योद्धा था। रावण की आज्ञा मिलते ही वह बिना किसी प्रश्न के युद्ध की तैयारी में जुट गया। यहाँ महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि उसने सीधे युद्धभूमि में जाने के बजाय 'यज्ञभूमि' जाना उचित समझा। वह जानता था कि उसकी शक्ति का स्रोत आसुरी माया और तांत्रिक सिद्धियाँ हैं। यह श्लोक इन्द्रजीत की अपनी विद्या और परम्परा के प्रति निष्ठा को दर्शाता है, जहाँ वह दैवीय सहायता प्राप्त करने के लिए निकुम्भिला यज्ञ आरम्भ करता है।
