विज्ञाय तु मनस्तस्य राघवस्य महात्मनः ।
सन्निवृत्याहवात्तस्मात् संविवेश पुरं ततः ॥६-८१-१॥
vijñāya tu manastasya rāghavasya mahātmanaḥ |
sannivṛtyāhavāttasmāt saṃviveśa puraṃ tataḥ ॥6-81-1॥
Translation
Understanding the mind of the high-souled Raghava (that he was ready for battle), he (Indrajit) retreated from that battle and entered the city (Lanka).
हिंदी अनुवाद
महात्मा राघव (श्री राम) के मन की बात जानकर (कि वे अब युद्ध के लिए तैयार हैं), वह (इन्द्रजीत) उस युद्ध से लौटकर नगर (लंका) में प्रवेश कर गया।
English Commentary
Indrajit is a clever warrior. Sensing Shri Rama's resolve, he made a strategic retreat. This was not cowardice but preparation for his next move. His goal was not direct combat but to employ 'Maya' (illusion).

इन्द्रजीत एक चतुर योद्धा है। श्री राम के संकल्प को भांपकर उसने रणनीतिक वापसी की। यह कायरता नहीं, बल्कि अगली चाल की तैयारी थी। उसका उद्देश्य सीधे युद्ध करना नहीं, बल्कि 'माया' (छल) का प्रयोग करना था।
