श्रुत्वा तु भीमनिर्ह्रादं शक्राशनिसमस्वनम् ।
वीक्षमाणा दिशः सर्वा दुद्रुवुर्वानरर्षभाः ॥६-८२-१॥
śrutvā tu bhīmanirhrādaṃ śakrāśanisamasvanam |
vīkṣamāṇā diśaḥ sarvā dudruvurvānararṣabhāḥ ॥6-82-1॥
Translation
Hearing that terrifying sound, which was like the roar of Indra's thunderbolt, and looking in all directions, those foremost of monkeys began to flee in fear.

इन्द्र के वज्र के समान भयंकर उस गूँजते हुए शब्द को सुनकर, सभी दिशाओं की ओर देखते हुए वे वानर शिरोमणि भयभीत होकर भागने लगे।
English Commentary
The demonic roar of Indrajit following the slaying of the illusory Sita strikes a deep blow to the morale of the Vanara army. That sound, likened to a thunderbolt, awakened a primal fear that arises in moments of perceived defeat. This verse vividly portrays the immediate chaos and psychological terror on the battlefield. The flight of the monkeys reflects their disbelief and a natural instinctive reaction to the horrific spectacle they had just witnessed.

इन्द्रजित द्वारा माया सीता के वध के उपरान्त की गई आसुरी गर्जना वानर सेना के मनोबल पर गहरा आघात करती है। वज्र के समान उस ध्वनि ने वानरों के भीतर उस आदिम भय को जाग्रत कर दिया जो पराजय के क्षणों में उत्पन्न होता है। यह श्लोक युद्धभूमि में व्याप्त तात्कालिक अराजकता और मनोवैज्ञानिक आतंक का जीवंत चित्रण करता है। यहाँ वानरों का भागना उनके अविश्वास और उस भीषण दृश्य के प्रति उनकी स्वाभाविक मानवीय प्रतिक्रिया को दर्शाता है।
