क्षिपन्तीन्द्रजितः सङ्ख्ये वानरा भीमविक्रमाः ।
वृक्षशैलमहावर्षं विसृजन्तः प्लवङ्गमाः ॥६-८२-१४॥
kṣipantīndrajitaḥ saṅkhye vānarā bhīmavikramāḥ |
vṛkṣaśailamahāvarṣaṃ visṛjantaḥ plavaṅgamāḥ ॥6-82-14॥
Translation
Those monkeys of fearsome prowess began to rain down a massive shower of trees and rocks upon Indrajit in the battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
भयंकर पराक्रम वाले वे वानर युद्ध में इन्द्रजित पर वृक्षों और पर्वतों की भारी वर्षा करने लगे।
English Commentary
The Vanaras adopted the strategy of raining trees and rocks against Indrajit, much as they had done against Kumbhakarna. The phrase 'Vrikshashailamahavarsham' reflects the density of the assault. The monkeys were utilizing their natural strength against the sophisticated missiles of the Rakshasas. This barrage was sufficient to force Indrajit into a defensive posture.

वानरों ने कुम्भकर्ण की भांति इन्द्रजित के विरुद्ध भी वृक्षों और पर्वतों की वर्षा की नीति अपनाई। 'वृक्षशैलमहावर्षम्' शब्द आक्रमण की सघनता को प्रकट करता है। वानर अपनी स्वाभाविक शक्ति का उपयोग राक्षसों के अस्त्रों के विरुद्ध कर रहे थे। यह प्रहार इन्द्रजित को रक्षात्मक होने पर विवश करने के लिए पर्याप्त था।
