पृष्ठतो ऽनुव्रजध्वं मामग्रतो यान्तमाहवे ।
शूरैरभिजनोपेतैरयुक्तं हि निवर्तितुम् ॥६-८२-४॥
pṛṣṭhato 'nuvrajadhvaṃ māmagrato yāntamāhave |
śūrairabhijanopetairyuktaṃ hi nivartitum ॥6-82-4॥
Translation
Follow me as I advance to the front in battle. For heroes of noble lineage, it is indeed inappropriate to retreat.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं युद्ध में आगे बढ़ रहा हूँ, तुम सब मेरे पीछे आओ। उच्च कुल में उत्पन्न वीरों के लिए युद्ध से पीछे हटना सर्वथा अनुचित है।
English Commentary
Shri Hanuman presents the highest ideal of leadership here—He leads from the front to clear the way for the army. By using the word 'Abhijanopetaih' (well-born/noble lineage), He reminds the Vanaras of their dignity and the glory of their ancestors. For an excellent warrior, turning away from the battlefield is considered a stain. This challenge from Shri Hanuman is meant to recommit the Vanaras to the fight.

श्री हनुमान जी यहाँ नेतृत्व का सर्वोच्च आदर्श प्रस्तुत करते हैं—वे स्वयं आगे बढ़कर सेना का मार्ग प्रशस्त करते हैं। वे 'अभिजनोपेतैः' (उच्च कुल के) शब्दों का प्रयोग कर वानरों को उनकी मर्यादा और वंश के गौरव की याद दिलाते हैं। एक श्रेष्ठ योद्धा के लिए रणभूमि से विमुख होना कलंक माना जाता है। श्री हनुमान जी की यह ललकार वानरों को पुनः युद्ध के लिए कटिबद्ध करने वाली है।
