Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
यदि सत् स्यात् सतां मुख्य नासत् स्यात्तव किञ्चन ।
त्वया यदीदृशं प्राप्तं तस्मात् सन्नोपपद्यते ॥६-८३-२५॥
yadi sat syāt satāṃ mukhya nāsat syāttava kiñcana |
tvayā yadīdṛśaṃ prāptaṃ tasmāt sannopapadyate ॥6-83-25॥
Translation
O foremost among the virtuous! If Dharma were true, nothing inauspicious would have happened to You. Since You have suffered so, it is proven that Dharma is not real.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सज्जनों में श्रेष्ठ! यदि धर्म सत्य होता, तो आपके साथ कुछ भी अशुभ (असत्) नहीं होता। चूँकि आपको इतना कष्ट मिला है, इसलिए सिद्ध होता है कि धर्म का कोई अस्तित्व नहीं है।
English Commentary
Shri Lakshmana's argument is intensely emotional and sharp. Addressing Shri Rama as 'Satam Mukhyah' (foremost of the virtuous), he presents His suffering as evidence of Dharma's failure. This reflects the voice of pain that arises in a devotee's heart upon seeing their Lord in distress.

लक्ष्मण जी का यह तर्क अत्यंत भावुक और तीखा है। वे श्री राम को 'सतां मुख्यः' (सज्जनों में श्रेष्ठ) मानकर उनके कष्ट को धर्म की असफलता का प्रमाण बताते हैं। यह भक्तों के मन में उठने वाली उस पीड़ा का स्वर है जब वे अपने भगवान को कष्ट में देखते हैं।
