यस्यार्था धर्मकामार्थास्तस्य सर्वं प्रदक्षिणम् ।
अधनेनार्थकामेन नार्थः शक्यो विचिन्वता ॥६-८३-३८॥
yasyārthā dharmakāmārthāstasya sarvaṃ pradakṣiṇam |
adhanenārthakāmena nārthaḥ śakyo vicinvatā ॥6-83-38॥
Translation
For him who has wealth and power, both Dharma and Kama are also accomplished. A powerless person, even if he desires success, can never attain his goals.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिसके पास धन और शक्ति है, उसके लिए धर्म और काम भी सिद्ध हो जाते हैं। शक्तिहीन व्यक्ति यदि केवल इच्छाएं करे, तो वह कभी अपने उद्देश्यों को प्राप्त नहीं कर सकता।
English Commentary
Shri Lakshmana explains the interconnectedness of the four goals of life ('Purusharthas'). He argues that without 'Artha,' both 'Dharma' and 'Kama' are paralyzed. This teaching is meant to motivate Shri Rama toward action, urging Him to resolve to reclaim the royal fortune of Lanka.

लक्ष्मण जी यहाँ 'पुरुषार्थ चतुष्टय' के अंतर्संबंधों को समझा रहे हैं। वे कहते हैं कि 'अर्थ' के बिना 'धर्म' और 'काम' पंगु हैं। यह उपदेश श्री राम को कर्म के प्रति प्रेरित करने के लिए है। वे चाहते हैं कि श्री राम लंका की राजलक्ष्मी को पुनः प्राप्त करने का संकल्प लें।
