Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
उद्भ्रान्तचित्तस्तां दृष्ट्वा विषण्णो ऽहमरिन्दम ।
तदहं भवतो वृत्तं विज्ञापयितुमागतः ॥६-८३-९॥
udbhrāntacittastāṃ dṛṣṭvā viṣaṇṇo 'hamarindama |
tadahaṃ bhavato vṛttaṃ vijñāpayitumāgataḥ ॥6-83-9॥
Translation
O subduer of enemies! Seeing that sight, my mind became bewildered and I was overcome with grief. Therefore, I have come to report this incident to you.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे शत्रुओं का दमन करने वाले! उस दृश्य को देखकर मेरा चित्त भ्रमित हो गया और मैं अत्यंत दुखी हो गया। इसलिए मैं आपको यह वृत्तांत सुनाने के लिए आया हूँ।
English Commentary
Shri Hanuman admits to being 'Udbhrantacittah' (bewildered in mind). Even the wise Hanuman could not see through Indrajit's deception at that moment. By addressing Shri Rama as 'Arindama' (subduer of foes), He acknowledges the Lord's power even while He Himself is distressed. This highlights the profound delusions that can arise on the path of Truth, capable of unsettling even the greatest of souls.

हनुमान जी अपनी मानसिक स्थिति 'उद्भ्रान्तचित्तः' (भ्रमित मन) के रूप में स्वीकार करते हैं। यहाँ तक कि महान ज्ञानी हनुमान जी भी इन्द्रजित के इस छल को नहीं पहचान सके। 'अरिन्दम' कहकर वे श्री राम की शक्ति को याद दिला रहे हैं, भले ही इस समय वे स्वयं व्याकुल हैं। यह श्लोक सत्य के मार्ग पर आने वाले उन गहन भ्रमों को दर्शाता है जो बड़े-बड़े योगियों को भी विचलित कर सकते हैं।
