कथयन्तं तु सौमित्रिं सन्निवार्य विभीषणः ।
पुष्कलार्थमिदं वाक्यं विसञ्ज्ञं राममब्रवीत् ॥६-८४-८॥
kathayantaṃ tu saumitriṃ sannivārya vibhīṣaṇaḥ |
puṣkalārthamidaṃ vākyaṃ visañjñaṃ rāmamabravīt ॥6-84-8॥
Translation
Interrupting Lakshmana while He was still speaking, Vibhishana addressed the unconscious Shri Rama with these profound and meaningful words.
हिंदी अनुवाद
बात कर रहे सुमित्रानन्दन लक्ष्मण को बीच में ही रोककर, विभीषण ने संज्ञाहीन श्री राम से अत्यंत गूढ़ और अर्थपूर्ण यह बात कही।
English Commentary
Vibhishana assumes the role of a wise counselor here. He realizes that allowing grief to linger could be disastrous for the campaign. The act of interrupting ('Sannivarya') reflects his quick wit and his sense of urgency. Although Shri Rama was 'Visanjnam' (unconscious), Vibhishana's address to Him manifests his faith that the Lord is receptive to his words. He is now poised to unveil the 'Maya' that has deluded everyone.

विभीषण जी यहाँ एक प्रज्ञावान मन्त्री की भूमिका निभा रहे हैं। वे जानते थे कि शोक को अधिक समय देना विनाशकारी हो सकता है। 'सन्निवार्य' (रोककर) शब्द उनकी त्वरित बुद्धि और स्थिति की गम्भीरता को दर्शाता है। यद्यपि श्री राम 'विसंज्ञ' (बेहोश) थे, किन्तु विभीषण का उन्हें संबोधित करना उनकी उस श्रद्धा को प्रकट करता है कि भगवान उनकी वाणी सुन रहे हैं। वे अब उस 'माया' का पर्दाफाश करने वाले हैं जिसने सबको भ्रमित कर रखा है।
