English Commentary
The sources of Indrajit's power—prowess, penance, and boons—are detailed here. This represents the threefold strength of a powerful Asura. Vibhishana encourages Shri Lakshmana by calling Him 'Samitinjayah' (conqueror of assemblies/battles). He makes it clear that they are facing not just a warrior, but an illusory foe endowed with celestial favors.
