यद्युत्तिष्ठेत् कृतं कर्म हतान् सर्वांश्च विद्धि नः ।
निकुम्भिलामसम्प्राप्तमहुताग्निं च यो रिपुः ॥६-८५-१४॥
yadyuttiṣṭhet kṛtaṃ karma hatān sarvāṃśca viddhi naḥ |
nikumbhilāmasamprāptamāhutāgniṃ ca yo ripuḥ ॥6-85-14॥
Translation
If he rises after completing his ritual there, then consider us all as dead. A foe who, before reaching Nikumbhila and before offering oblations to the fire—

यदि वह वहाँ अपना यज्ञ कर्म पूर्ण करके उठ खड़ा हुआ, तो हम सबको मारा हुआ ही समझिये। जो शत्रु निकुम्भिला पहुँचने से पहले और अग्नि में आहुति देने से पूर्व—
English Commentary
This verse reveals the condition for Indrajit's invincibility. Vibhishana issues a dire warning. The phrase 'Consider us all as dead' underscores the absolute peril. Time is the greatest weapon here. The completion of the sacrifice would mean the total victory of unrighteousness, making its interruption vital for survival.

यह श्लोक इन्द्रजित की अजेयता की शर्त को प्रकट करता है। विभीषण जी एक अत्यंत गम्भीर चेतावनी दे रहे हैं। 'हतान् सर्वान् च विद्धि नः' (हम सबको मरा हुआ समझो) यह वाक्य स्थिति की भयंकरता को दर्शाता है। समय ही यहाँ सबसे बड़ा शस्त्र है। यज्ञ की पूर्णता अधर्म की पूर्ण विजय होगी, जिसे रोकना अस्तित्व की रक्षा के लिए अनिवार्य है।
