Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
त्वामाततायिनं हन्यादिन्द्रशत्रोः स ते वधः ।
वरो दत्तो महाबाहो सर्वलोकेश्वरेण वै ॥६-८५-१५॥
tvāmātatāyinaṃ hanyādindraśatroḥ sa te vadhaḥ |
varo datto mahābāho sarvalokeśvareṇa vai ॥6-85-15॥
Translation
He who attacks you while you are an aggressor shall be your death—this is the boon granted to that enemy of Indra by the Lord of all worlds Himself.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तुम जैसे आततायी (शत्रु) पर जो शस्त्र उठाएगा, वही तुम्हारी मृत्यु का कारण होगा— ऐसा वरदान स्वयं ब्रह्मा जी ने इन्द्र के उस शत्रु को दिया है।
English Commentary
Vibhishana unveils the secret vulnerability of Indrajit. While granting him boons, Lord Brahma had embedded a hidden clause: he could be slain by a warrior who challenges him while he is an armed aggressor ('Atatayin') and not engaged in the ritual. This is the 'divine loophole' intended to be exploited for the preservation of Dharma.
हिंदी टीका
विभीषण जी यहाँ इन्द्रजित की मृत्यु के रहस्य (Secret Vulnerability) का उद्घाटन कर रहे हैं। ब्रह्मा जी ने इन्द्रजित को वरदान देते समय एक गुप्त शर्त रखी थी—यदि कोई योद्धा उसे उस समय चुनौती दे जब वह शस्त्रों से सुसज्जित (आततायी) हो और यज्ञ न कर रहा हो, तो उसका वध संभव है। यह 'दैवीय न्याय' का वह छिद्र है जिसका उपयोग धर्म की रक्षा के लिए किया जाना था।
