जानामि तस्य रौद्रस्य मायां सत्यपराक्रम ।
स हि ब्रह्मास्त्रवित् प्राज्ञो महामायो महाबलः ॥६-८५-१८॥
jānāmi tasya raudrasya māyāṃ satyaparākrama |
sa hi brahmāstravit prājño mahāmāyo mahābalaḥ ॥6-85-18॥
Translation
O Vibhishana of true prowess! I am aware of the illusion of that fierce Rakshasa. He is indeed a knower of the Brahma-missile, wise, a great illusionist, and very powerful.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सत्य पराक्रमी विभीषण! मैं उस भयानक राक्षस की माया को जानता हूँ। वह ब्रह्मास्त्र का ज्ञाता, बुद्धिमान, महान मायावी और महाबली है।
English Commentary
Shri Rama provides a realistic assessment of the enemy's strength. By acknowledging him as an expert in the Brahma-missile and a master illusionist, He shows that a great warrior never underestimates his foe. This statement reveals His gravity and His heightened alertness toward the impending conflict.
हिंदी टीका
श्री राम यहाँ शत्रु की शक्ति का यथार्थवादी आकलन (Realistic Assessment) कर रहे हैं। वे उसे 'ब्रह्मास्त्रवित्' और 'महामायः' कहकर उसकी क्षमताओं को स्वीकार करते हैं। एक श्रेष्ठ योद्धा कभी अपने शत्रु को कम नहीं आँकता। श्री राम का यह कथन उनकी गम्भीरता और युद्ध के प्रति उनकी सचेत मानसिकता को प्रकट करता है।
