अथ तस्यामवस्थायां लक्ष्मणं रावणानुजः ।
परेषामहितं वाक्यमर्थसाधकमब्रवीत् ॥६-८६-१॥
atha tasyāmavasthāyāṃ lakṣmaṇaṃ rāvaṇānujaḥ |
pareṣāmahitaṃ vākyamarthasādhakamabravīt ॥6-86-1॥
Translation
Then, in that situation, the younger brother of Ravana (Vibhishana) spoke words to Lakshmana that were harmful to the enemies and conducive to achieving their goal.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस अवस्था में (जब इन्द्रजीत निकुम्भिला यज्ञ के लिए जा रहा था), रावण के अनुज (विभीषण) ने लक्ष्मण से शत्रुओं के लिए अहितकारी और कार्य को सिद्ध करने वाला (अर्थसाधक) वचन कहा।
English Commentary
Vibhishana acts as a strategic advisor here. He knows that the completion of Indrajit's sacrifice would be fatal for Shri Rama's army. Thus, he advises Lakshmana to take immediate action. The word 'arthasadhaka' (conducive to the goal) indicates that this advice is crucial for winning the war.
