एवमुक्त्वा तु सौमित्रिं जातहर्षो विभीषणः ।
धनुष्पाणिनमादाय त्वरमाणो जगाम ह ॥६-८७-१॥
evamuktvā tu saumitriṃ jātaharṣo vibhīṣaṇaḥ |
dhanuṣpāṇinamādāya tvaramāṇo jagāma ha ॥6-87-1॥
Translation
Having spoken thus to Lakshmana, the delighted Vibhishana took Lakshmana, who was holding a bow in his hand, and proceeded with great speed.
हिंदी अनुवाद
लक्ष्मण से ऐसा कहकर, प्रसन्नचित्त हुए विभीषण, हाथ में धनुष धारण किए हुए लक्ष्मण को साथ लेकर शीघ्रतापूर्वक (निकुम्भिला की ओर) चले।
English Commentary
Vibhishana's delight stems from the confidence that the destruction of Indrajit's sacrifice and his subsequent death are now certain. This sequence marks a decisive turning point in the war. Vibhishana is acting not merely as a guide here, but as a catalyst for the destruction of unrighteousness. Lakshmana being described as 'dhanushpani' (bow in hand) signifies his readiness and alert state for the impending battle.

विभीषण की प्रसन्नता का कारण यह विश्वास है कि अब इन्द्रजीत के यज्ञ का विध्वंस और उसका वध निश्चित है। यह घटनाक्रम युद्ध का निर्णायक मोड़ है। विभीषण यहाँ केवल मार्गदर्शक नहीं, अपितु अधर्म के विनाश के लिए उत्प्रेरक की भूमिका निभा रहे हैं। लक्ष्मण का 'धनुष्पाणि' (हाथ में धनुष लिए हुए) होना उनकी तत्परता और युद्ध के लिए सन्नद्ध स्थिति को दर्शाता है।
