अविदूरं ततो गत्वा प्रविश्य च महद्वनम् ।
दर्शयामास तत्कर्म लक्ष्मणाय विभीषणः ॥६-८७-२॥
avidūraṃ tato gatvā praviśya ca mahadvanam |
darśayāmāsa tatkarma lakṣmaṇāya vibhīṣaṇaḥ ॥6-87-2॥
Translation
Then, having gone a short distance and entering that great forest, Vibhishana showed that act (the sacrificial ritual) of Indrajit to Lakshmana.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनन्तर, थोड़ी दूर जाकर और उस विशाल वन में प्रवेश करके विभीषण ने लक्ष्मण को वह (इन्द्रजीत का) कर्म (यज्ञ अनुष्ठान) दिखाया।
English Commentary
This location is the grove of Goddess Nikumbhila, where the tantric sacrifice was taking place. Vibhishana, knowing the secrets of Lanka, led Lakshmana directly to the spot. 'Tatkarma' (that act) refers to the malevolent ritual of Indrajit, the completion of which would render him invincible. Vibhishana's action proves that defeating an enemy requires not just strength, but also critical intelligence.

यह स्थल निकुम्भिला देवी का वन है, जहाँ तांत्रिक यज्ञ चल रहा था। विभीषण, जो लंका के भेदों को जानते थे, लक्ष्मण को सीधे घटनास्थल पर ले गए। 'तत्कर्म' (वह कर्म) से तात्पर्य यहाँ इन्द्रजीत के उस अभिचार यज्ञ से है, जिसके पूर्ण होने पर वह अजेय हो जाता। विभीषण का यह कृत्य सिद्ध करता है कि शत्रु को हराने के लिए केवल बल ही नहीं, अपितु गुप्त सूचनाओं की भी आवश्यकता होती है।
