तस्कराचरितो मार्गो नैष वीरनिषेवितः ।
यथा बाणपथं प्राप्य स्थितो ऽहं तव राक्षस ॥६-८८-१६॥
taskarācarito mārgo naiṣa vīraniṣevitaḥ |
yathā bāṇapathaṃ prāpya sthito 'haṃ tava rākṣasa ॥6-88-16॥
Translation
...that is a path followed by thieves, not one trodden by heroes. O Rakshasa! Now I stand right within the path of your arrows.
हिंदी अनुवाद
...वह चोरों का मार्ग है, वीरों द्वारा सेवित मार्ग नहीं है। हे राक्षस! अब मैं तुम्हारे बाणों के मार्ग में (सामने) खड़ा हूँ।
English Commentary
Lakshmana labels guerrilla warfare (magical warfare) as the 'path of thieves.' The Kshatriya code praises frontal combat. Lakshmana challenges him, stating he is now standing directly in front, with no cover, daring him to show his prowess now.

लक्ष्मण ने मायावी युद्ध को 'चोरों का मार्ग' कहा। क्षत्रिय धर्म आमने-सामने के युद्ध की प्रशंसा करता है। लक्ष्मण उसे चुनौती देते हैं कि अब वे सामने खड़े हैं, कोई आड़ नहीं है, तो अब वह अपना पौरुष दिखाए।
