आदास्यन्ते ऽद्य सौमित्रे जिवितं जिवितान्तगाः ।
अद्य गोमायुसङ्घाश्च श्येनसङ्घाश्च लक्ष्मण ॥६-८८-२३॥
ādāsyante 'dya saumitre jivitaṃ jivitāntagāḥ |
adya gomāyusaṅghāśca śyenasaṅghāśca lakṣmaṇa ॥6-88-23॥
Translation
'...O son of Sumitra! (These arrows) which end life will take your life today. O Lakshmana! Today, packs of jackals and flocks of hawks...'
हिंदी अनुवाद
'...हे सुमित्रानन्दन! जीवन का अंत करने वाले (ये बाण) आज तुम्हारे प्राण ले लेंगे। हे लक्ष्मण! आज सियारों के झुंड और बाजों के समूह...'
English Commentary
The mention of jackals and hawks symbolizes death and destruction. Indrajit describes the desecration of Lakshmana's corpse to break him mentally. This is a demonic tendency that seeks to destroy the enemy's honor even after death.

सियारों और बाजों का उल्लेख मृत्यु और विनाश का प्रतीक है। इन्द्रजीत लक्ष्मण को मानसिक रूप से तोड़ने के लिए उनके शव की दुर्गति का वर्णन कर रहा है। यह एक आसुरी प्रवृत्ति है जो शत्रु के सम्मान को मरणोपरांत भी नष्ट करना चाहती है।
