महाप्रमाणमुद्यम्य विपुलं वेगवद्दृढम् ।
धनुर्भीमं परामृश्य शरांश्चामित्रशातनान् ॥६-८८-३॥
mahāpramāṇamudyamya vipulaṃ vegavaddṛḍham |
dhanurbhīmaṃ parāmṛśya śarāṃścāmitraśātanān ॥6-88-3॥
Translation
He lifted a massive, swift, sturdy, and terrifying bow, and grasped arrows capable of destroying enemies.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उसने एक विशाल, वेगवान, मजबूत और भयानक धनुष को उठाया तथा शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले बाणों को स्पर्श (ग्रहण) किया।
English Commentary
The bow being 'mahapramana' (massive) and 'bhima' (terrifying) indicates Indrajit's extraordinary strength. For a warrior, weapons are both ornaments and protectors. By describing the arrows as 'destroyers of enemies,' Valmiki sets the stage for the intensity of the impending conflict. This is the scene of preparation for the final battle.

धनुष का 'महाप्रमाण' (विशाल आकार) और 'भीम' (भयानक) होना इन्द्रजीत के असाधारण बल को दर्शाता है। एक योद्धा के लिए उसके शस्त्र ही उसके आभूषण और रक्षक होते हैं। बाणों को 'शत्रु-नाशक' विशेषण देकर वाल्मीकि जी ने आने वाले संघर्ष की तीव्रता को स्थापित कर दिया है। यह अंतिम युद्ध की तैयारी का दृश्य है।
