युयुधाते महात्मानौ तदा केसरिणाविव ।
बहूनवसृजन्तौ हि मार्गणौघानवस्थितौ ॥ ६.८८.३८ ॥ नरराक्षससिंहौ तौ प्रहृष्टावभ्ययुध्यताम् ॥ ॥६-८८-३८॥
yuyudhāte mahātmānau tadā kesariṇāviva |
bahūnavasṛjantau hi mārgaṇaughānavasthitau |

nararākṣasasiṃhau tau prahṛṣṭāvabhyayudhyatām ॥6-88-38॥
Translation
Those two great souls fought like lions. Releasing floods of arrows, they stood firm. Those lions among men and Rakshasas fought on with great delight.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे दोनों महात्मा सिंहों की भांति युद्ध कर रहे थे। वे बाणों के समूह छोड़ते हुए डटे हुए थे। वे नर-सिंह और राक्षस-सिंह अत्यंत प्रसन्न होकर युद्ध कर रहे थे।
English Commentary
The joy of battle! For a true warrior, war is a festival. The word 'prahrishtau' (delighted) indicates they were not afraid but thrilled. Like lions, they were engrossed in displaying their power. The term 'mahatma' is used here in the context of their great spirit (patience and valor).

युद्ध का आनंद! सच्चे योद्धा के लिए युद्ध एक उत्सव है। 'प्रहृष्टौ' (प्रसन्न) शब्द बताता है कि वे भयभीत नहीं, बल्कि रोमांचित थे। सिंहों की तरह वे अपनी शक्ति के प्रदर्शन में मग्न थे। यहाँ 'महात्मा' शब्द का प्रयोग उनकी महान आत्मा (धैर्य और शौर्य) के संदर्भ में किया गया है।
